May 2004
The Hart Fellows Program grew out of the Hart Leadership Program's mission to help Duke
undergraduates become engaged citizens in a democratic society. The HFP offers a capstone
experience that helps its participants develop their own vision of ethical leadership as
they move into professional life. Since its inception in 1995, the HFP has selected
forty-nine recent graduates to serve in 27 countries - from Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe -
across five continents.
JMD was commissioned to create a new interface for the Hart Fellows Program which complemented
the look and feel of the rest of the Hart Leadership Program website, but served to
prominently feature the handful of fellows currently serving overseas.
We decided to migrate the previously static fellows front page to a dynamically-generated
page that featured one of the five fellows on each day of the week. This allowed us more room
to really "show off" each fellow and offer a taste of their photography work as well.
JMD continues to serve the Hart Leadership Program on other projects, and strives to maintain
its favorable reputation within the Duke University community.
